Board Members Bios



W.Scott Hicks, President

W.Scott Hicks is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He founded Clinical Services and Consultation in Latham and served as owner and clinical director. After selling his clinic to St. Peter’s Hospital Alcohol Rehabilitation Center, he became their Outpatient Clinical Director. Since 1985 Scott was an Employee Assistance Program provider for New York State United Teachers and is currently a social services specialist for NYSUT members. Scott resides in Niskayuna, NY.

Valerie Grey, Secretary

Valerie recently accepted the position of Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Health and Hospital Affairs and Chief Hospital and Healthcare Operations Officer for the State University of New York. She will be working to address healthcare workforce shortages, reduce health disparities, incorporate social determinants of health, increase value-based care, solution safety net hospital sustainability, support student (mental) health, advance cutting-edge research, promote consumer engagement, enhance partnerships, leverage technology/data/innovation and more.

Michael Beauchamp

Michael is MD Candidate, Class of 2023 at Albany Medical College in Albany NY. He graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA in May of 2018. Michael brings extensive Clinical, Research and Chemistry Experience to our board. While at Holy Cross he was a research assistant and a peer tutor. He also selected to participate in a program that allowed undergraduate students to visit hospice care patients to provide comfort and support at the end of life. Michael enjoys volunteering with many different agencies and is an enthusiastic board member at Community Caregivers.

Kathleen A. Kelly, PhD, MPH, MS, FNP

Kathy is currently Dean, School of Health Sciences at The Sage Colleges. She holds a PhD in Public Administration and Policy from SUNY Albany, an MPH, School of Public Health SUNY Albany, an MS in Nursing from Russell Sage College. She is a certified Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and also holds a BS in Nursing from Russell Sage College.

Mark Kissinger

Mark is a seasoned government professional with extensive knowledge of health and long term care programs. His many skills include project organization, Communications, Management of large scal projects implementation, Knowledge of Long Term Care system in NY and an ability to work with and within government.

Andrea L. Lorden, PhD, MPH

Andrea is currently a Health Services Research Consultant. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Services Research from Texas A&M, a Masters in Public Health from University of North Texas as well as a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University.

Brian Loerzel, Treasurer

Brian is currently Senior Leader (VP/Director), Network Management with MVP Health Care in Schenectady, NY. He oversees contracting, provider relations and network strategy for MVP’s largest region. His responsibilities include developing and managing contractual relationships with the plan’s hospital, ancillary, IPA and professional providers for commercial, federal and state products; budgeting and respective P/L of provider rate increases; data modeling and analytics among many others.


Trisha Gannon

Trisha is Controller for the State University Construction Fund, a NYS entity dedicated to the state’s building and infrastructure assets at 32 campuses and 3 teaching hospitals. She has overall responsibility for oversight, management and coordination of the Funds Controllers Office including accounting insurance, internal controls and Enterprise Risk Management functions.

Adam Knaust

Adam is Senior Vice President at WealthOne. He is a veteran of the securities industry. He enjoys boating and enhancing his knowledge in the financial services industry. Adam is focused on providing his individual and corporate clients with an optimal experience built on quality service and customized planning. Adam has extensive volunteer experience with many non-profit agencies such as Habitat for Humanity, Regional Food Bank and of course Community Caregivers.


Katrin Ramsey PT DSc

Katrin is the Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at Russell Sage Colleges. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Lafayette College, a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Columbia University, a Doctorate of Science in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and she completed a Leadership Program in Integrative Healthcare at Duke University.

Edna Mae Reilly

From January 2003 until her retirement in December 2011, Edna Mae served the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). As Acting Deputy Commissioner for Administration, she oversaw administration of the agency and promoted the wellbeing and safety of New York’s children and families. She had been the OCFS Associate Commissioner for Financial Management until November of 2010.

From 1992 to 2002, Edna Mae served as Staff Director for Senator Ronald Stafford of Plattsburgh. She acted as a key advisor and staff supervisor, and evaluated and managed legislation, budgets and constituent services.

Edna Mae brings to Community Caregivers her considerable expertise in state government, fiscal operations and financial management, and program planning and evaluation in the social services arena. She earned her MS degree in Public Administration from Russell Sage College in Troy, and resides in Latham.


Donald Robbins

Don received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Hobart College. He then did graduate course work in public administration at SUNY Albany. He holds extensive experience in all State Government Affairs which he obtained throughout his long career. Don is now retired but very involved in volunteer activities.
